OUR MUSIC

IT IS THE ARTIST’S HOPE THAT PARENT AND CHILD CAN GET LOST IN THE ENJOYMENT OF THE BEFORE, DURING AND THE AFTER MOMENTS, AS THE MUSIC CALLS THEM TO RETURN TO ONE ANOTHER AGAIN AND AGAIN.

I just wanted to let you know how much we have been enjoying the LITTLEseed® CD. My three-year-old daughter E loves it and runs to get it to play it for her brothers when they cry… She also sings all the songs!

ALBUM DESCRIPTION

Whimsical, visual, tender and perfect for the parent eager to stop and watch her child grow.  She is profoundly aware each precious moment ends in memory.  Reflective and playfully serene, this is neither “grown up” music nor “children’s music” but music for both.  These songs are a gift wrapped up in a beautiful package of encouragement, moments of togetherness, for everyone to enjoy.

  A LITTLE BACK STORY

Michelle Wenis is the singer, songwriter, recording artist and performer for the 21 song CD “How We Grow.” She also wrote the single “Far Away (A Daughter’s Song for Her Dad)” for her father, who is now retired overseas, in the Philippines.

Prior to recording this album, Michelle had no formal background or training in the music profession. “My parents used to make me sing. It was true torture having to sing for their friends on command,” she laughs. “I was in one or two school musicals. My college room mate and I loved to sing Karen Carpenter songs on the sly. I love belting out chick band songs from the 90s, when I am having a good day. I sing when I am happy.

I sing these songs during my LITTLEseed® Program classes which I penned my ‘musical movement and fitness program for prenatal through early childhood.’ Our moms and I listen to the instrumentals through Prenatal Yoga. After baby is born and they return to classes, we witness their little ones start to gurgle, spin, flip, crawl, toddle, run… It’s a beautiful process and the songs just hold everything, all their self care, nurturing and bonding, together.

When asked what inspires her to do what she does for a living, for a life, etc… and what is in store she smiles and says…

“Years ago, what I am about to say would never have been my answer. I would have said all kinds of things flowery that might seem great.
